Founded in 1873 in Oxford, Mississippi, Delta Gamma is an international women's fraternity built on the values of friendship, sisterhood, and a lifelong commitment to service. Our symbols—including the anchor, which represents hope, our beloved Hannah Doll, and our colors of pink, blue, and bronze—reflect the traditions that unite generations of Delta Gammas. Guided by our motto, "Do Good," our members strive to lead with integrity, compassion, and purpose in every aspect of their lives. With a longstanding commitment to supporting individuals who are blind or have low vision through our Service for Sight philanthropy, Delta Gamma empowers women to make a meaningful difference on their campuses, in their communities, and beyond, creating a legacy of leadership and service that lasts a lifetime.

             

The Zeta Xi Chapter at the University of Alabama at Birmingham proudly carries Delta Gamma’s legacy forward. Established in February 1991, our chapter brings Delta Gamma’s values to UAB’s diverse, service-driven campus. With a history of 701 members, Zeta Xi is built on genuine sisterhood, academic excellence, and meaningful involvement both on campus and throughout the Birmingham community. Our members are leaders, volunteers, and friends who support one another while living out Delta Gamma’s motto, “Do Good.” Through our philanthropy efforts, our chapter has raised a lifetime total of $93,950.30 for our foundation. Rooted in tradition and lifelong bonds, Delta Gamma Zeta Xi continues to honor its history while shaping a strong, purpose-filled future, one sisterhood, one act of good, and one generation at a time.
