At UAB Delta Gamma, we are committed to building a sisterhood rooted in leadership, service, academic excellence, and lifelong friendship. Our chapter empowers women to grow into confident leaders, serve with purpose, and make meaningful contributions both on campus and in the Birmingham community. Through opportunities for personal and professional development, philanthropy, and genuine connection, we strive to help every member become the best version of herself. Together, we foster a welcoming and supportive environment where each sister is encouraged to lead with compassion, embrace new opportunities, and leave a lasting impact that extends far beyond her collegiate experience.
Service with Heart and Purpose
Service for Sight
Since 1936, Delta Gamma’s primary philanthropic mission has been dedicated to sight preservation and providing support for individuals who are blind or have low vision. Through our philanthropy, Service for Sight, we are committed to making a meaningful difference by dedicating our time, resources, and efforts to this important cause. Our members support local organizations, participate in hands-on service opportunities, and raise awareness about visual impairments, accessibility, and vision health within our communities. Delta Gamma proudly supports five dedicated schools for children who are blind or have low vision through service, fundraising, and grants from the Delta Gamma Foundation. Each school provides specialized education, resources, early intervention, and support to help children and their families thrive.Â
Community Service
Serving the Birmingham community is an important part of who we are as the women of Delta Gamma. Throughout the year, our sisters dedicate their time to volunteering with local organizations that make a meaningful impact, including food banks, Lovelady Thrift Store, community outreach events, and other service opportunities across the city. Whether we are sorting donations, preparing meals, organizing resources, or lending a helping hand wherever it is needed, we are committed to giving back with compassion and purpose. Through these experiences, we strengthen our bonds as sisters while making a positive difference in the lives of those in our community and living out Delta Gamma's motto to "Do Good."
